General Information

School Based Dental Sealant Program

Dental sealants are a safe and effective way of preventing tooth decay.  2nd and 6th grade students in participating schools will be bringing home information explaining this free dental program. In order for your child to participate in this program, the “yellow” card must be signed and returned to the school by the date indicated.

A dental hygienist will check your child’s teeth and place sealants on the chewing surface of the back teeth to seal out food and bacteria that cause decay.   Students are then re-checked in 3rd and 7th grade with additional sealants being placed on any adult molars that were not fully erupted the previous year.

This FREE cavity fighting program is currently being offered in a total of 46 schools in Stark and Carroll County.  Participating school districts include:  Alliance City, Brown Local, Canton City, Carrollton Exempted Village, Fairless Local, Marlington Local, Minerva Local, Osnaburg Local, Perry Local, Plain Local and Sandy Valley Local.

For more information on the dental sealant program, or to see when we will be visiting your child’s school, contact Dona McCullough, Dental Sealant Program Manager, at 330-438-4685.
