Emerging Issues

In collaboration with the Ohio Department of Medicaid (ODM), Ohio Medicaid’s Managed Care Organizations (MCOs) and as the primary applicant for Stark County, Canton City Public Health is accepting applications from eligible Stark County community-based organizations (CBO) to target the disparity in the Black infant mortality rate.

Canton City Public Health is hosting a webinar on Wednesday, January 26 beginning at 10:00 a.m. The purpose of the webinar is to announce Request for Proposals for Funding through Canton City Public Health’s Coordinated Community Approaches to Target the Disparity in the Black Infant Mortality Rate in Stark County. Important details, documents, and deadlines will be shared. Focus areas for funding are: Community Health Worker, DULA Services, and access to Home Visiting Programs. Registration is required at:  Request for Applications - Webinar Link

Applications are due February 11, 2022 by 4:30 pm.  Community Based Organizations (CBO) will be notified regarding the status of their application no later than February 18, 2022. The Ohio Department of Medicaid and Managed Care Organizations will notify Canton City Public Health (Primary Applicant) on or around March 18th regarding the status of the completed application. Past funding under this program does not guarantee continued support. All projects and actual work must be completed by June 30, 2024.
